MYOFUNCTIONAL THERAPY

Heading: The Missing Piece You Haven't Addressed Yet

Maybe you — or your child — have always breathed through your mouth. Maybe the tongue sits low, the lips never quite close, and no one has ever really explained why — or what to do about it. Maybe your orthodontist referred you because no matter how long you wear braces, tongue posture will keep moving your teeth back. Maybe you're already on your second round.

Myofunctional therapy addresses the oral muscle patterns that sit at the root of so many issues that other therapies can't quite reach.

We begin with a thorough evaluation to fully understand your oral characteristics — how you breathe, swallowing, rest, and move. From there, therapy focuses on retraining the oral muscles and reducing the compensations that surrounding muscles have developed over time.

But the most crucial piece is always finding out why. Open mouth posture and low tongue resting position don't exist in a vacuum. Establishing nasal breathing is often the foundation of everything — and that means working closely with ENTs, orthodontists, and allergists to make sure every piece of the puzzle is addressed.

Many people who have struggled to make progress in speech therapy — or whose orthodontic treatment keeps stalling — have an unaddressed myofunctional component. This might be exactly what's been missing.

Ideal for: children, teens, and adults with open mouth posture, low tongue resting position, mouth breathing, tongue thrust, or orthodontic concerns
